Meet Randi, General Manager

Born and raised in the Houston area, Randi has spent her entire life surrounded by books and embracing this city. As a child she spent her time laying in corners reading aloud to her dog, or hiding up in a tree with her next novel, dreaming of being an illustrator. Books remained a constant through her formative years from volunteering in the library all summer to eventually getting her first job at the same local library, racing out of Calculus at the end of the day to go shelve books…and stash a few on the side.

Randi stayed in the Houston area through college obtaining her BA in Communications from the University of Houston at Clear Lake, spending time focusing on marketing and graphics. Her career started in sports marketing, working with both the Astros and Texans during college, then later with multiple Triple-A baseball teams across the country. Upon returning to Houston in 2017, Randi chose to transition her career to the classroom, teaching college readiness and math skills while maintaining her freelance marketing endeavors and receiving her MBA from Lamar University.

On her bookshelf you will find a little bit of everything. Some of the themes that required their own designated shelf? Fantasy, the Romanovs, baseball history, and mythology retellings.

With the time that is not spent reading, you’ll find Randi climbing walls in the rock gym, roller skating around Buffalo Bayou Park, crocheting sweaters with a fury, or spending time with her pets, a dog named Koda (you may have seen him around the store) and cat Mabel.
