Meet Patrick, Bookseller

It’s hard to remember a time when I wasn’t obsessed with books. Ever since I was able to read, I always had a book in hand. Even today, it almost feels like I’m missing something if I’m not currently reading anything. It may seem a little cliche, but really, every book I have read has had a profound impact on me. From CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS to PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, I took something from each book I read and made it a part of me. Learning from the various experiences that characters go through, and gaining different understandings about the world, I can say confidently that I would not be who I am today without books. They can change your life, and make you see things from a new perspective. There is a certain magic to books, you never know what will happen until you open up the cover and jump in! 

I grew up in California and ended up going to UCLA to study History and English. History is another passion of mine, and I’m always excited when I find a really good history book about a subject I don’t know much about. Now in Houston, I have the pleasure to work here at Brazos Bookstore! Meeting new people and selling books is exciting and makes every day an adventure! 

I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction, so if you need a recommendation for a good book to escape, or if you want to get your mind blown with unique and crazy world-building, I’m here to help!
