SPAIN arts & culture brings authors, poets, editors,
translators and other local guests to discuss the Words Without Borders
anthology.

Join us for the much-anticipated US tour of this anthology of great
Spanish works little-known to English-speaking audiences previously.  This tour
will give audiences the chance to meet and talk with some of the contributors
to this anthology.

Eight members of the project, from editors to translators
to the authors and poets themselves, will present in three different US cities
about the value of translation and about what this diverse array of Spanish
language poetry, fiction and essays – many appearing in English for the
first time in this anthology – can reveal about Spanish culture.

In Miami
editor Mercedes Monmany will accompany poet Olvido Garcia Valdes,
novelist
Miquel de Palol, and translator Forrest Gander in presenting.  In
Houston and
Albuquerque fellow guest editor Javier Aparicio will join author Ignacio
Martinez de Pisón and translator Anne McLean in discussing the work and
the
importance of translation. Author Margaret Randall will join the panel
in Albuquerque and Professor Lane Kauffman shall join in Houston

We look forward to a successful
evening of Spanish literature in Houston.
