Brazos Bookstore presents Lawrence Wright, reading from his new book GOD SAVE TEXAS: A JOURNEY INTO THE SOUL OF THE LONE STAR STATE. This event will take place on April 30 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. This is a ticketed event. Doors open at 6:30pm. the event starts at 7:00pm.

This event is presented in partnership with The Texas Monthly. Wright will be in conversation with Mimi Swartz.

Tickets are $27.95 plus tax to admit one person. Each ticket comes with a hardcover copy of GOD SAVE TEXAS. If you have purchased a ticket and are unable to attend, you must claim your book from Brazos within two weeks of the event (by May 14).

LAWRENCE WRIGHT is a staff writer for The New Yorker and the author of nine previous books of nonfiction, including IN THE NEW WORLD, REMEMBERING SATAN, THE LOOMING TOWER, GOING CLEAR, THIRTEEN DAYS IN SEPTEMBER, and THE TERROR YEARS, and one novel, GOD’S FAVORITE. His books have received many prizes and honors, including a Pulitzer Prize for THE LOOMING TOWER. In GOD SAVE TEXAS, Wright's profound portrait of the state not only reflects our country back as it is, but as it was and as it might be.

This event is located at St. Paul’s Church. Free parking is available across Fannin Street from the church. The Museum District MetroRail stop is within walking distance. The entrance to the venue will be marked with signs and ushers the night of the event.
