Personal, funny, and moving stories from almost a half century of hairdressing.

From smart aleck kids to lively seniors; from friends, co-workers, customers, celebrities, and robbers, Antonette Danna shares her memories as a hairdresser in her hometown of Houston, Texas. The stories told here are from her expriences since the early nineteen seventies, working at salons all over the Houston area. These include her first job at J.C. Penny, and the Warwick Hotel in its celebrity heyday.

Hairdressers often become confidants to their clients; as a result, Antonette has learned the art of when to share and when to remain discrete.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Antonette Marie Danna has been a hairdresser for almost fifty years. She took Cosmetology starting as a junior at Reagan High School, completing courses her senior year after transferring to Sam Houston High.

The oldest of ten children; eight girls and two boys, Antonette was the unofficial hair-doer for the bunch. She likes to believe that experience has served her well in the professional beautician's world.
