AFA/Brazos Collaboration Concert

Sunday, June 28, 2015 - 4:00pm
2421 Bissonnet St
Houston, TX 77005-1451

“Sounds, and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not”

With these words from The Tempest, William Shakespeare summed up the magic of music. Using this line as inspiration, AFA (formerly American Festival for the Arts) and Brazos Bookstore have teamed up for a performance/reading!

The premise is simple: to pair two local writers with two composers and see what work evolved. On this Sunday, all four artists will present their work. The two writers are Gulf Coast editor Christopher Brean Murray with a poem entitled “Blue Jay Variations,” and Brazos Bookstore’s events coordinator Benjamin Rybeck with a short story entitled “Conducting.” The two composers are Todd Frazier and Hugh Lobel.

There will be wine, light refreshments, and, of course, music and literary arts. Come join us!
