Nikos D. Kontogiannis is assistant professor of Byzantine archaeology and the history of art at Koç University in Istanbul.
Tolga Uyar is associate professor in the Department of Art History at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University in Turkey. He is codirector of the Cappadocia in Context graduate seminar at the Koç University Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations.
