Incoming First Grade

Dear Rising 1st Graders,
We are looking forward to a great 1st grade year! We want to encourage reading proficiency and a lifelong love of reading. To help with the transition from Kindergarten to 1st grade, we have a few summer reading and writing suggestions.  

Our summer reading suggestions are Henry and Mudge: The First Book by Cynthia Rylant and one choice from the 1st grade 2020 HAISLN (Houston Area Independent Schools Library Network) list. You may want to look at the lists in other grade levels as well, if you have a reader who is above or below level.
