David Todd, Editor of "The Texas Legacy Project"
Brazos Bookstore is pleased to welcome David A. Todd for an in-store appearance on Thursday, October 7, 2010, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM where he will discuss the book The Texas Legacy Project: Stories of Courage and Conservation.
This book holds stories from more than sixty people who represent a variety of causes, communities, and walks of life — from a West Texas grocer fighting nuclear waste to an Austin lobbyist pressing for green energy. Each speaks from the heart in personal reminiscences and first-hand accounts of battles fought for land and wildlife, for public health, and for a voice in media and politics. These impassioned accounts remind us of the importance of protecting and conserving the natural resources in our own backyards . . . wherever they may be.
The Texas Legacy Project is a companion to the interactive website www.texaslegacy.org. Records of the archive are available at the Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin.
About the editor: David Todd is the founder, coordinator, and interviewer for the Conservation History Association of Texas. He has worked as an environmental attorney, environmental donor, and cattle rancher, and has served on the boards of Audubon Texas, the Texas Conservation Alliance, Texas League of Conservation Voters, and Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club.
