Acclaimed writer, editor, critic, and translator Benjamin Moser makes a rare Houston appearance to read from his work and to engage in conversation. He is the author of Why This World: A Biography of Clarice Lispector, on the Brazilian novelist and stylistic innovator (1920-77), considered one the great twentieth-century prose masters. Moser, who currently lives and works in the Netherlands, is the series editor of the new retranslations of Clarice Lispector published by New Directions. A native Houstonian, he serves as contributing editor on visual art to Harper’s Magazine, and is a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books.
