Local writer, poet, critic, and author of LITERARY WRITING IN THE 21st CENTURY: CONVERSATIONS, Anis Shivani is in conversation with Kim Davis, Director of Texas Review Press in Huntsville about a wide range of issues concerning writing and publishing.


Anis Shivani is a fiction writer, poet, and critic in Houston, Texas. Shivani’s previous book of criticism was AGAINST THE WORKSHOP: PROVOCATIONS, POLEMICS, CONTROVERSIES. His work appears in the Texas Review, Georgia Review, Yale Review, Boston Review, Threepenny Review, and many other journals.

Kim Davis studied Arts and Entertainment Media Management at Columbia College Chicago, and got an MFA in Creative Writing, Editing, and Publishing from Sam Houston State University. She has been with Texas Review Press since 2014. She has managed operations there since Paul Ruffin's death in April, 2016. Kim is a writer, editor, and graphic designer with numerous articles in magazines and journals in the US and in the UK. In addition to peer reviewed articles, she is widely known as a writer about jobs in the adventure travel industry.
