First discovered by radio host Ira Glass in the clubs of Chicago reading excerpts from his diaries, Sedaris catapulted to fame after recounting his experiences as a Macy’s Christmas Elf on NPR’s “Morning Edition.” Labeled a “minor phenomenon” by The New York Times, Sedaris went on to challenge that assessment by becoming a major phenomenon, publishing six New York Times best-selling books including Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim and When You Are Engulfed in Flames.
