Brazos Bookstore and Rice Gallery in celebrating artist Wayne White’s recent
monograph, WAYNE WHITE: Maybe Now I’ll Get The Respect I So Richly Deserve, by design guru and art collector Todd
Oldham. White will be present to
speak and sign books.
In WAYNE WHITE: Maybe Now I’ll Get The
Respect I So Richly Deserve, Oldham shines the spotlight on the clever and warped
world of artist Wayne White. From Wayne's early days as a production designer
and puppet maker for the iconic TV show Pee-wee's
Playhouse to his unmistakable and exquisitely rendered text paintings, this
monograph is a comprehensive view of Wayne White's thirty plus years of work.
The
following week, see Wayne’s
site-specific installation BIG LECTRIC FAN TO KEEP ME COOL WHILE I
SLEEP, a tribute to legendary country singer George Jones, at Rice Gallery. To
pre-order books, call Brazos Bookstore at 713.523.0701. For more information about the installation at Rice Gallery, visit ricegallery.org.
