This is one of my favorite recommendations for kids and parents in the store. They’re written by an elementary school science teacher from Massachusetts, and let me just say that I would LOVE to be in his class. Each book has an adventure or mystery plot that the kids must solve using experiments and the scientific method. They also include real experiments you can try at home! I can’t recommend this series highly enough.

Our Kids Science section is bursting with fantastic nonfiction for kids on both broad and specific topics. If your little one is scientifically minded, I’d recommend browsing the full section for hidden gems. These are two of my current favorites that talk about a wide variety of topics, since there’s sure to be new areas of interest and some that they’re already familiar with and want to gain more depth of knowledge.
